Former McKinsey India chairman Adil Zainulbhai joins RIL board as independent director

The board of directors of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) today announced the appointment of Adil Zainulbhai as an independent director on the company's board with immediate effect.
With this, the RIL board will expand to 14 members of which 8 are independent directors.

I look forward to his contributions in strengthening Reliance and preparing the organisation for sustained high growth,'' Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries Limited, said.
In his 34-year career, Zainulbhai, till recently the chairman, McKinsey India, has advised a variety of global and Indian corporations and their boards. He has been very closely associated with several government-sponsored projects in areas like energy, urbanisation and inclusive growth, apart from his keen interest and efforts in community and social causes.
Born and brought up in Mumbai (Bombay), Zainulbhai graduated in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology. He also has an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is India's largest private sector company on all major financial parameters with a turnover of Rs371,119 crore ($68.4 billion), cash profit of Rs30,505 crore ($5.6 billion) and net profit of Rs21,003 crore ($3.9 billion) as of 31 March 2013.
