Infosys Q2 net rises 33%

Mumbai: Infosys Technologies says its second quarter net profit rose 33 per cent from a year ago, as outsourcing business from overseas clients drove the growth.

Its July-September net profit of Rs 300 crore (Rs 225.77 crore) was well ahead of market expectations.

The total income of the company increased by 31 per cent to Rs 1,179.03 crore against Rs 897.10 crore in the same quarter previous year, according to a company statement issued to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The net profit numbers were well above the market expectations and seemed to be on the path to upgrade guidance.
