Tata Motors showcases the Tiago Aktiv after Hexa launch

Days after the launch of its lifestyle vehicle `Hexa, Tata Motors today showcased the Tiago Aktive, the crossover variant of Tiago hatchback, at an event in Mumbai, which will be soon launched in the Indian market.

Tiago has been a successful product for Tata Motors in the Indian market, coming after years of lost opportunities and falling sales.

Tata Motors had previously showcased the Zica Aktiv at the 2016 Auto Expo and now the carmaker has unveiled the Aktiv version of the Tiago hatchback at an event in Mumbai.

The Tiago Aktiv, although mechanically expected to be the same as its regular version, features black cladding at the lower end of the front and rear bumper, silver bash plate, side body cladding, black shaded roof and ORVMs, silver finished roof rails and gunmetal alloy wheels.

The interior of the Tiago Aktiv features exterior colour coordinated panels and leather seats. Apart from that, there are no major changes compared to the current model.

Compared to the concept version showcased at the Auto Expo, the Tiago Aktiv misses out on decals and machined alloy wheels. The Tiago Aktiv might be offered in both petrol and diesel variants. Tata Motors has sold over 50,000 units of Tiago hatchback in the Indian market and it has been one of the best-selling cars in 2016. The new variant is expected to expand its range of products and further boost the sales.

The launch of Tiago Aktiv launch follows the announced the commercial launch of its much awaited 'lifestyle vehicle' Hexa – a power packed, feature loaded vehicle.

The Hexa is a complete vehicle package, with an exceptional combination of design, luxury, off-road and on-road capabilities, boasting modern and exciting architecture, plush interiors and next-generation connectivity and performance related features, enhancing the functionality of the vehicle, says Tata Motors.

The Hexa is introduced at a starting price of Rs12,08,798, ex-showroom Maharashtra for the manual transmission variant and Rs14,98,382, ex-showroom Maharashtra for the automatic variant. The Hexa  and will be available in over 300 sales outlets, across the country.

With an emphasis on design and drivability, the Hexa boasts aggressiveness, delivering absolute comfort, personifying Tata Motors passenger vehicle business unit's newly defined 'IMPACT design' language.

The vehicle features a new first-in-segment 'Super Drive Modes' system, to provide customers with a pleasurable, comfortable and dynamic driving experience.

The new system is a flawless combination of the vehicles engine performance, new-generation Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Torque on Demand (TOD) and the vehicles Instrument Cluster display and ambient lighting, that can be activated through a well-placed rotary knob, on the center console, says the company.

Equipped with Tata Motors 'ConnectNext' Infotainment system', the Hexa has an ergonomically placed 5? touch screen exclusively designed by Harman, with 10 JBL branded speakers, featuring voice recognition and smart phone integration. The ConnectNext App suite includes, NAVIMAPS App, Juke-Car App, Tata Smart Remote App and Tata Smart Manual App.
