Wipro launches telecom solutions for convergent networks

Wipro Technologies launched a suite of telecom solutions for convergent networks. These solutions -- Wipro OSS Smart and Wipro WAP Smart -- address business challenges faced by Internet and telecom service providers in the areas of operation support systems integration and wireless application development.
According to Mr. Ramesh Emani, chief executive for telecom solutions of Wipro, the company is already a preferred software partner to some of the world's biggest telecom giants. Now, with the launch of Wipro OSS Smart and Wipro WAP Smart suite of solutions the company intends to become the leading solutions partner to Internet and telecom service providers across the world who are moving towards convergent networks
Wipro's telecom solutions group is working on emerging technology areas such as Internet Protocol Networks, Voice over IP, Wireless Applications (WAP), Next Generation Network Architecture, Intelligent Networks and Network Management. The company, with over 5000 person years of expertise in delivering solutions to the global telecom market, a dedicated resource pool of 1200 employees, and access to about 6000 professionals addressing application areas like e-commerce and data warehousing, is planning to garner a big share of the $40 billion market of the communications industry in the United States.
