India to share knowledge portal with global anti-corruption body

India will share a knowledge portal for regular interaction with the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA), the global body fighting corruption.
It has been agreed to build a knowledge portal for sharing information and best practices with IAACA on a real time basis, Central Vigilance Commissioner R Srikumar said today.
However, he said, it has not been decided who will develop the knowledge portal but a committee will look into the rollout aspect.
He said India is an active member in the executive council of IAACA. The CVC said a plan has been initiated to improve the country's association with anti-corruption activities and urged all agencies and like-minded people to join the association.
''We have been discussing the idea for national knowledge sharing on anti-corruption and we expect to create it in a year,'' Srikumar told members of Vigilance Study Circle in Kolkata.
The CVC said a call centre has also been proposed to handle the increasing volume of complaints, which currently stands at 15,000-20,000 a year.
International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) is a non-governmental organisation established as by the UN office in Vienna at a special meeting held on 19–20 April 2006. Its headquarters is in Beijing, China.
The main objective of the organisation is to promote the effective implementation of the UN Convention against Corruption, adopted by the General Assembly on 30 December 2003, and to assist anti-corruption authorities in the world in fighting against corruption.
