Mumbai: HR Share 2003, the annual HR conference organised by the International School of Business and Media (ISB&M), was a runaway success. The event saw eminent HR speakers across different sectors come together on a common platform. The conference was inaugurated by Pradeep Rawat, member of Parliament.
The
theme of this year's annual HR conference was 'Raising
the Performance Bar: A New Mandate for HR'. The two-day
conference addressed diverse HR issues by prominent dignitaries
and industry heads such as Dr Y V Verma, VP HR, LG Electronics
India; G Ravindran, director HR, Ernst & Young; Suresh
Sahu, director HR, Cannon India; Pramod Kumar, president,
ISB&M; Allen Sequeira, VP HR, Mahindra & Mahindra;
and Rajeev Karwal, CEO, Electrolux India.
Speaking on the occasion Rawat said: "Vision, passion and integrity are intangibles that generate energy, essential for performance in an organisation and hence becomes an important mandate for organisational growth."
Addressing the august gathering Pramod Kumar spoke about important emerging issues of performance competition, cost-efficiency and faster growth rates. "In this context the role of HR will change from employee care to supporting employee performance so that the HR function becomes a productive member of the value chain."
An
initiative of the students of ISB&M, the objective
of organising this conference was to share ideas and views
directly with the industry and be at the forefront of
emerging industry scenarios. HR Share 2003 aimed at facilitating
such industry interface. This year, the conference saw
an active participation of over 120 delegates from across
the industry interface.
