11 Dec 2008

Bhupendra Mathur, senior VP, IMRB International, called Bhupi by friends and the MR fraternity, passed away peacefully in his sleep on 9 December 08 having battled against cancer without losing his courage, his indomitable spirit or his sense of humour. He was 50.

Says Thomas Puliyel, president IMRB International "As a senior leader of the business he was a great support, offering advice and direction when things he felt were not quite right. He would believe strongly in his convictions, yet was kind and gentle in his feedback"
Eric Salama, CEO, Kantar, said, "We are all poorer today but none more so than 'Bhupi' family and friends and IMRB work colleagues to whom he was so devoted and to whom he made such a difference. He was a truly exceptional person."

Mohan Krishnan senior VP, BIRD specialist unit of IMRB International said Bhupi was instrumental in the growth of BIRD in more ways than one. If there is one individual who has to be singled out for the most contribution to BIRD's growth, it has to be Bhupi. Some of the projects we continue to execute owe their origins to him: TRAI, Itops, and Icube. He was instrumental in building strong relationships with range of clients include MAIT, CII, ISPAI, BSNL, TVSE, and HCL and so on.

Bhupi leaves behind his wife Ragini, son Rohit and daughter Ayushi.
