Bangalore: Continuing its new product launch spree, Acer India has introduced a number of lightweight projectors under its consumer product group portfolio, all of which feature ultra brightness, high contrast ratio, longer lamp life and are extremely lightweight. All the models are backed by a two year warranty.

The projector range is available in both liquid crystal displays (LCD) and digital light processing (DLP) versions in the price range of Rs 99,999 to Rs 2.99 lakh, plus taxes. The Acer PL111 LCD projector comes with speakers and gives 1300 lumens of light.

The range will be sold through dealers and channel partners and Acer plans to identify and select dealers across the country, with approximately four partners per city. Currently, Acer has service centres across 19 locations and ASPs (Acer Service Partners) in 56 cities to handle post-sales service.

According to S Rajendran, general manager, sales & marketing, consumer product group: "We feel there is an opportunity and a market for projectors, especially as we are positioning it along with our existing product portfolio. Acer has entered the market late but we will leverage the technology, pricing and our service network to gain a definite market share for our projectors."

Acer will target specific sectors such as government, corporates, banking and finance, small and medium enterprises (SME) and educational institutes with its projectors.
