CR2 has also secured an order for further ATM software licenses from Canara Bank. The bank already uses CR2's software to run its existing ATM network. This deal was conducted with NCR India, one of CR2's global strategic partners.
Says CR2 head (sales, Asia Pacific) Cyril Kavanagh: "This is further proof of the applicability of CR2's solutions for the Indian banking environment and of CR2's ability to meet our customers' technology and support requirements. The expansion of our support infrastructure in our Bangalore office will assure our customers in India of our continued ability to deliver and support our solutions to world-class standards."
Services, which will be undertaken from the Bangalore office, include: help-desk and call resolution, product modification services, product consultancy and training, installation and implementation services, support through certification and project management.
CR2 plans to recruit additional staff over the coming 12 months, as the support centre plays a bigger role in the firm's global development and customer support strategy. The Bangalore office has been in operation since 1998, where a strong and skilled team has grown over this period.
CR2 joint CEO Ron Downey says: "CR2 is integrating and automating our business processes to increase efficiency, maintain competitive advantage and strengthen customer relationships. This planned expansion of the Bangalore office is an important phase in this process. CR2 anticipate that our operations in India will further enhance our services and solution proposition to our customers."
CR2's Harare office, he says, closed at the end of April 2002, in order to fuse the organisations knowledgebase and transfer responsibilities to the Bangalore operation. "As part of the remit, the Bangalore office will operate extra hours to support the range and geographic spread of our customers in both regions."
CR2 joint CEO Cian Kinsella says: "This strategic move will enable CR2's Bangalore office to focus on building closer ties and provide a more attentive customer service, while reinforcing our commitment to our customers in the region."
