Govt to borrow Rs2,50,000 crore in April-September 2011

The government will borrow a total of Rs2,50,000 crore, forming about 60 per cent of the annual target, in the first half (April-September) of the coming financial year 2011-12, economic affairs secretary R Gopalan said on Friday.
Net borrowing for the first half of the year has been pegged at Rs190,000 crore after redemption of 60,000 crore of the total government debt of Rs74,000 crore, Gopalan said.
As per the borrowing programme, the RBI, on behalf of the government, will sell 5-9 year securities for Rs4,000-5,000 crore,10-14 year securities for Rs5,000-6,000 crore and 20-year and above securities for Rs2,000-3,000 crore, totalling Rs12,000 crore, between 4 and 8 April 2011.
RBI will sell 5-9 year securities for Rs4,000-5,000 crore, 10-14 year securities for Rs5,000-6,000 crore and 15-19 year securities for Rs2,000-3,000 crore, for a total of Rs12,000 crore, between 11 and 15 April 2011.
Between 18 and 22 April 2011, RBI will sell 5-9 year securities for Rs4,000-5,000 crore, 10-14 year securities for Rs5,000-6,000 crore and 20-year and above securities for Rs2,000-3,000 crore, for a total of Rs12,000 crore.
Between 2 and 6 May 2011, RBI will sell 5-9 year securities for Rs4,000-5,000 crore, 10-14 year securities for Rs5,000-6,000 crore and 15-19 year securities for Rs2,000-3,000 crore, for a total of Rs12,000 crore.
Between 9 and 13 May 2011, RBI will sell 5-9 year securities for Rs4,000-5,000 crore, 10-14 year securities for Rs5,000-6,000 crore and 20-year and above securities for Rs2,000-3,000 crore, for a total of Rs12,000 crore.
