Gurnani to work for transparency, ‘happy staff’ at Tech Mahindra

In his first communiqué to the top executives of Mahindra Satyam on Thursday, new chief executive officer C P Gurnani said that he would strive to make the company known for its transparency and governance standards.
Gurnani said his immediate priority was to get the company re-energised and make it "the happiest place to work in". He said the company had tremendous strengths in delivery excellence, differentiated service offerings and domain. "My priority is to get it re-energised and leverage these strengths effectively to gain traction for accelerated growth," he said.
Gurnani said, "We have redesigned the organisation structure to make it more customer-centric and agile. Decision making in the company is being accelerated." He added that the access to customers and geographic penetration had been enhanced.
Gurnani was head of global operations at Tech Mahindra before his new assignment, Tech Mahindra named Gurnani to succeed A S Murthy on Tuesday.
"I am interested in a future where we are recognised for our governance standards, transparency and values. I am interested in a future where our associates are fearless and can match up to business challenges that come their way," he said.
"Unfortunate events following January have taken their toll on the company and have seriously dented out image, business and morale. Ever since April, when Tech Mahindra emerged as an investor, I have had the opportunity to travel and meet some of our customers... one thing common was whatever be the past, they are interested in the future,'' Gurnani said in his letter.
A Sify report points out that while Mahindra Satyam, which has put about 10,000 employees in a 'virtual pool', with no work and only 'basic' pay, it has at the same time called for resumes for important jobs such as senior WebShpere administrators, and personnel for storage administration, MQ series administration and SAP opportunities.
