L&TITL moves ahead

L&T Information Technology Limited (L&TITL), the infotech company that belongs to the multi faceted Larsen and Toubro group, is moving ahead with its acquisition plans by acquiring a stake in Advent Computer Services (ACS). This allows it to manage the operations and product development at ACS, which is into developing software products for supply chain automation like the ADS400 that runs on IBM AS/400 platforms.
The memorandum of understanding between L&TITL and ACS involves the former taking an equity stake in ACS, investments in the ADS 400 product. A tripartite agreement with CCG Munich (a German infotech company) for providing offshore development activity for CCG''s clients and contribute to their resource management was also signed (ACS and LTITL being the other two).
L&TITL, which has also been distributing Seagate software products like Seagate Crystal reports and Seagate Info for the last two years, is to take up the distribution of their business intelligence software. These products - Seagate Analysis and Seagate Info 7 — are to be distributed, free of cost, over the Internet.
Seagate Analysis is a desktop application with features like adhoc query and reporting and OLAP (online analytical processing) features that integrate with regular software like Excel.
Info 7 is a fully integrated business intelligence application that is suitable for large companies.
