Leaked images reveal vertical rear camera, no fingerprint sensor on iPhone 8

A couple of leaked image sets of Apple's iPhone 8 have appeared over the past few days, which include CAD schematics and pictures that show a dummy iPhone 8 unit complete with a protective case.
The CAD images were first published on SlashLeaks, and then ''confirmed'' by one of this year's most prominent leakers, Benjamin Geskin with the Twitter handle @VenyaGeskin1.
According to commentators, the CAD seemed to imply this was the iPhone 8 design with the Touch ID fingerprint sensor placed on the back. But, according to Geskin, that was not the case, rather the circle on the back represented the spot where the Apple logo should go.
SlashLeaks also posted a set of pictures showing a dummy iPhone 8 unit and a protective case.
The design of the case revealed the iPhone 8 will come with a vertical rear camera, and would have no fingerprint sensor on the back. The images also indicated the iPhone 8 had an elongated power button compared to its predecessors.
The third image posted on SlashLeaks showed a wallet case for the iPhone 8, although one can clearly see this picture was tampered with.
Towards the top are what may be the front camera of the device, sensors, and earpiece.
The front of the phone is said to be entirely covered by the display, the only exception being a cutout for the aforementioned hardware. According to rumours, Apple would have tried to embed those parts under the screen as with Touch ID, but that might have proved to be too difficult.
The "iPhone 8" is expected to be announced in a September press event, though mass production might only get underway in October or November. The company, meanwhile, should have two LCD-based phones -the `iPhone 7s' and `7s Plus' -which will continue to use physical home buttons with integrated Touch ID, according to commentators.
