LG India''s MD to head South-west Asia operations

Mumbai: K R Kim, MD, LG Electronics India (LGEIL), has been elevated to president, South West Asia, LGE, responsible for overall functioning of all the LG subsidiaries in South West Asia , which include India , Nepal ,Bangladesh and Sri Lanka .
Reacting to his appointment, Kim described his India appointment as professionally his most enrichingand said, "I truly thank all my Indian colleagues for the support extended to me during my tenure as MD."
Known within the company as a visionary with indefatigable energy, he has been instrumental in making LGEIL, a household name in India and making it a Rs6,500 crore company in seven years. He is now in the league of top five people running the operations of LGE .
A law graduate from Seoul National University, Kim has been with LG since 1974 and has handled various foreign assignments in Dubai, Chicago, New York, Panama, and Dusseldorf prior to his posting in India.
He founded the Goldstar brand in UAE for the first time, while in the US and Germany, he was involved in setting up the IT business. In Latin America, Kim was instrumental in making the Goldstar brand the leader in the country.
