Microsoft to boost advertising, online business with new global advertising sales head
23 Apr 2011
Microsoft Corp has appointed its corporate vice president Frank Holland to lead the software giant's global advertising sales business, the advertising and online organisation.
Given the strategic importance of advertising sales to Microsoft, Holland and the business will report directly to Kevin Turner, chief operating officer.
Holland is a 13-year veteran of Microsoft, with extensive global experience. For the past six years he was corporate vice president of Microsoft's worldwide operations, with a reputation for helping businesses capitalise on opportunities for growth, particularly in the area of digital commerce.
The global team reporting to Holland will not change and it will continue to work closely with Qi Lu, president of Microsoft's online services division, the driving force behind Bing and MSN, and Rik van der Kooi, corporate vice president of the advertiser and publisher solutions group, and Yusuf Mehdi, senior vice president of the online audience group. Both groups report to Qi Lu, under the online services division structure.
