Mukesh leads Anil by Rs45,788 crore in market capitalisation

Even after the spectacular listing of Reliance Communication Ventures yesterday, the total market capitalisation of companies controlled by Mukesh Ambani far exceeds the total value of companies controlled by Anil Ambani.

Based on yesterday's closing prices, the difference in market capitalisation between the two groups is as high as Rs45,788 crore.

This gap may expand further after the listing of Reliance Petroleum from the RIL group. Reliance Petroleum is planning an IPO later this year and is expected to have a market capitalisation of around $6 billion.

Reliance Energy Ventures and Reliance Capital Ventures are only holding companies of Reliance Energy and Reliance Capital respectively and their market capitalisations reflect the value of their holdings. Since the total market values of the operating companies are included, the holding company valuations are not considered while calculating total valuation of the group. Besides, the holding companies would get merged with the operating companies shortly.
