Royal Sundaram Alliance starts scheme for home contents

Chennai: Royal Sundaram Alliance Insurance has launched Homeshield Classic, a comprehensive insurance scheme for home contents.
A company press release said the product provides a cushion for home contents against a range of risks such as fire, earthquake, terrorism, storm, flood, cyclone, burglary and breakdown of appliances.
Homeshield Classic comes in three variants that differ in terms of the sum insured and the incidental premium. The base variant is the Silver with a sum insured of Rs2.50 lakh for a premium of Rs1,000. The top-end variant, Platinum, charges a premium of Rs2,000 for a sum insured of Rs5 lakh.
The package covers home contents such as jewellery, clothing, furniture, televisions, refrigerators and DVD players, among other things. Customers can also select an add-on cover for personal computers, air-conditioners and air-coolers.
