Chennai: Air conditioner manufacturer Voltas, an affiliate of the Tata Group, today announced the launch of five new models of air conditioners including a cone shaped one, which can be installed in corners.
According to the company, the new ranges of sleek-looking room ACs are targeted for the premium and luxury segments.
With the aim to achieve 20 per cent market share from the current level of 17 per cent, the company has put in place an aggressive distribution strategy to increase the number of distribution channel partners from 3,000 to about 4,000 next year.
The company has also invested Rs30 crore on advertising of the new models. The energy saving air conditioners would consume less power and provide more cooling, a top company official told reporters in Chennai. Voltas claims that the cone shaped air conditioner is the first of its kind in India.
