AT&T Inc is gearing up offer connected car users exclusive content including videos and games capable of being streamed onto personal mobile devices later this year, according to AT&T's senior vice president of emerging devices Chris Penrose, Reuters reported.

According to Penrose, it was no different than being able to get onto a Wi-Fi hotspot anywhere and get access to content one subscribed to and get unique content that one could only get in the back of the vehicle.

Penrose said in an interveiw that AT&T had signed up eight automaker partners, including General Motors Co, Audi AG and Ford Motor, to hook up cars with internet access and the goal was to offer free or paid content exclusively for connected car users and sell more data.
