BBC licenses magazine to Regent Media

BBC Knowledge, a BBC Magazine, will now be published across Asia from September 2009.
BBC has licensed the specialist factual title BBC Knowledge to Singapore publisher Regent Media.
This is the third licence for BBC Knowledge magazine, which is already sold in the US and Brazil
BBC Knowledge magazine is a full-colour glossy title offering informative, entertaining and inspirational features on science, history and nature. Its content draws on the existing portfolio of quality specialist factual titles produced by BBC Magazines Bristol, including award-winning popular science title Focus, BBC History Magazine and BBC Wildlife Magazine. The editor of BBC Knowledge Asia will be Ben Poon and the publisher is Cecilia Woo.
BBC Knowledge Magazine's Asia Edition will be presented in a highly structured manner, with specially selected content from BBC's extensive database to tailor to audiences in Asia. As a brand, BBC Knowledge is already well-known in the region due the BBC Knowledge TV channel.
This awareness, in addition to an extensive distribution network across Asia should help secure a strong audience for this new title.
The first Asian issue will go on sale 1 Sep 2009, priced S$7.50. It will have an initial print run of 80,000, broken down as follows: 25,000 copies (Singapore); 25,000 (Malaysia); 30,000 (other parts of Asia).
