Infosys partners Cephren to provide solutions to the construction industry
07 Mar 2000
The partnership with Infosys will encompass four primary collaborative areas: product development, quality assurance and maintenance, systems integration and professional services. These areas will seek to leverage on Cephren's project management services for large construction projects.
An industry pioneer, Cephren, with its collaboration and e-commerce services, helps global construction companies increase revenues, reduces risk and improves time-to-market. It has over 10,000 registered users on five continents, who collectively represent construction value exceeding $40 billion. Its user base includes such construction giants as Bechtel, Webcor Builders and Psomas.
Traditionally, a construction project involves hundreds of individuals from geographically dispersed firms, with no established process for communicating and collaborating. Cephren allows for building professionals -- like architects, engineers, developers, contractors etc. -- to use the web to share documents, to collaborate on construction projects and procure goods and services.
The partnership aims at leveraging on the systems integration expertise and best practices approach of Infosys coupled with the existing strengths of Cephren to provide customers with enterprise-class e-commerce solutions rapidly, efficiently and cost-effectively.
To support this partnership, Infosys is providing a product competency centre that will function as a virtual extension of Cephren and will manage all quality processes, including compliance with the SEI Level 5 requirements. It will also ensure code perfection and offer 24x7 global support and coverage.
