Mahindra & Mahindra's much-awaited electric vehicle will be on display at the Auto Expo scheduled for next month in the national capital.
Mahindra & Mahindra president (automotive sector) Pawan Goenka told reporters in Mumbai that the company would be showcasing an electric vehicle at the Auto Expo.
Mahindra and Mahindra, one of the largest automakers in the country, plans to launch the electric vehicle by the end of 2010, he said. The electric vehicle will be on display along with the automaker's full range of products, including two-wheelers, utility vehicles, light commercial vehicles and trucks at the upcoming Auto Expo.
The company also has plans to launch hydrogen and CNG vehicles over the next 12-18 months.
Goenka said the company had developed hydrogen and CNG powered vehicles, which could be launched over the next 12-18 months depending on the infrastructure. He added that the company also planned to launch hydrogen-powered three-wheelers at a later date.
Goenka said the company would also unveil its next generation mini truck, Maxximo, at the Auto Expo 2010. This would be the first product to roll out of Mahindra's new Chakan plant.
The Maxximo had been designed on the basis of extensive customer feedback, he said. He, however, did not disclose the vehicle's price.
