Sony Ericsson has unveiled three new handset models - Xperia-X8, Cedar and Yendo - that would cater to different segments.
Xperia-X8 is an Android-based smartphone. It features a 3" HVGA (320 x 480) screen with a scratch resistant surface, a 600MHz CPU running Android 1.6 with the same customisations that the X10 mini and Timescape offer.
Cedar, an entry level 3G model, is a Greenheart phone from the Sony Ericsson stable. The phone offers users an easy-to-use social networking experience with the Widget Manager 2.0 - an application that allows users access social networking via the stand-by screen.
Yendo is a full touch walkman series phone. The phone comes in many different colours like the x10 mini. Sony has not given any other information on the phone.
"With the launch of the new portfolio, we continue to offer an amalgamation of communication and entertainment by fusing together the touchscreen experience, premium imaging and music features, and great connectivity options across price segments," Anurag Kontu, marketing head, India, Sony Ericsson, said.
The handsets will be available in stores from September
