TVS Motor to introduce new motorcycle and scooter

In a bid to leverage its presence in the two-wheeler industry, bike manufacturer TVS Motor Company, which reported a strong financial performance for 2010-11, plans to introduce a new motorcycle and a scooter this year, according to a senior company official.
According to a PTI report, a senior company official told the agency that during this year it was planning to introduce a motorcycle and a scooter. However, he declined to give further details on the vehicles, saying it was "too premature".
Attributing the company's performance to its strong brand portfolio he said the company began on a strong portfolio of products adding that, most importantly it had a strong brand.
Additionally, he said the company had a strong dealership network across the length and breadth of this country.
He added that the company was also considering tapping the overseas market. He said that TVS was already exporting its products to over 50 countries and last year it entered Latin America.
The Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer started exporting motorcycles to Mexico and Brazil last year.
