Internet search engine technology leader Google paid its three executives $1 as their salaries in 2006.
According to Google''s accounts, chief executive Eric Schmidt and co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who were paid $1 as annual salary, saw the combined worth of their shares in Google reach $31.5 billion in December 2006.
Schmidt''s "other compensation", was $555,742 while Page''s was $36,795 and Brin, who is the president of technology, did not receive any.
Schmidt,
Page and Brin received bonuses of $1,723. Page''s shares
in Google were estimated at $13.4 billion followed by
Brin''s $13.2 billion, and Schmidt''s were worth $4.9 billion
by year-end,
thanks to the phenomenal rise in the technology firm''s
share value from $85 in 2004 to $460.48 last year.
