is offering a free 5.1home theatre system with its top
of the line DVD 9200 in a first of its kind offer in
the consumer electronics market.
"We want to ensure that home theatre entertainment
(HTS) does not remain an elitist concept and want to
rationalize prices in this segment," says Satish
Verma, chairman and managing director of Oscar.
"While consumers in the value-for-money segment
are shifting towards the superior technology of DVD
players, they need to understand that to fully enjoy

price," he added.
On
offer is Oscar's top of the line DVD 9200 with a free
5.1 home theatre system, which has a multi-format playback
and plays DVD, VCD, ACD, MP3, CD-R and SVCD. Some of
its features include 5.1channel Dolby digital sound
output, MP3 decoder and progressive scan for better
picture.
The DVD 9200 comes for Rs4,990 (inclusive of all taxes)
in North India except Rajasthan and Rs. 5,490 in Southern
states of India and Rajasthan.
Oscar
offer of a free 5.1 HTS with their DVD 9200 is sure
to fire up the home entertainment segment and also give
a major impetus to the sale and popularity of DVD based
home theatre systems in the market. "We are targeting
sale of over 10,000 units per month in the upcoming
festive period" says Verma.
The DVD offer from Oscar is currently available all
over India (excluding Western India).
