Fed up with advising adults, who never seem to learn, on how to manage the failed US economy, billionaire investor, Warren Buffett, known for his shrewd acumen in investing in large and start-up companies, is soon to become a cartoon star in a children programme The Secret Millionaire's Club, a programme designed to teach kids financial values, specially how to avoid debt.
The Oracle of Omaha, a billionaire, philanthropist, writer, stock investor and chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, will don a new role as an animated cartoon character in an animated web series called, The Secret Millionaire's Club, created by AOL and media production firm A Squared Media.
The 3 to 5-minute episodes are to be distributed over the internet by the end of 2009 or early 2010, which will also star personalities like Gisele Bündchen, the Brazilian model and film actress, Martha Stewart founder of Living Omnimedia and the late Carl Sagan, the astronomer and popular writer in astrophysics.
The world's second richest man will be in the company of kids aged 6 to 11 in four episodes, where he will educate children on financial responsibility through stories, which may save them learning the hard way later on.
The Nebraska-based 78-year-old Buffett said in a statement, ''What better time to help educate our kids about financial responsibility. Andy Heyward (an Emmy Award winning producer) and I have a longstanding relationship, and I am excited to introduce a series that is as fun as it is informative.''
Buffett said the objective of the series was to instill healthy financial habits in young people, which appeals to him enormously as ''The most important message, really, is that the best investment you can make is in yourself,'' he said.
