Vijay Mallya elected president of Aeronautical Society of India

New Delhi: Kingfisher Airlines chief Vijay Mallya has been elected president of the Aeronautical Society of India, replacing former chairman of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, Ashok Baweja.
The society is a body of serving and former professionals in the areas of aeronautics, aerospace and aviation and its primary purpose is to promote exchange of ideas and innovations in the fields of science, technology and management.
In elections held a week ago, joint director general of DGCA RP Sahi was appointed the chairman of the Delhi branch of the society.
DGCA director, Lalit Gupta, Interglobe GA's head, projects and corporate affairs, Debashis Saha, former director (planning) Air India, Ashok Bhushan, senior general manager, Jet Airways, AK Sivanandan and former DGCA chief, HS Khola, who is also a former society president, were reappointed to the executive committee.
