Rajeev Singh-Molares appointed president, A-Pac, Alcatel-Lucent

Alcatel-Lucent today announced the appointment of Rajeev Singh-Molares.
Alcatel-Lucent has promoted its chief strategy officer Rajeev Singh-Molares,as President of the Asia-Pacific region, replacing Sean Dolan, effective 1 February 2010.
Molares will continue to be a member of the company's management committee and will be based in Shanghai.
Prior to joining Alcatel-Lucent Rajeev was a senior partner and firm director at professional services firm the Monitor Group, founded by Harvard professor Michael Porter.
He is a magna cum laude graduate of Georgetown University's Walsh School of Foreign Service in Washington, DC, and holds a master's degree in international affairs from Yale University where he was a teaching assistant.
He is a director of a variety of foundation and nonprofit boards and a member of the World Economic Forum's Council on the Future of Mobile Communications where he works with industry colleagues to address global issues, including the challenges of digital inclusion in emerging economies, expanding broadband coverage, and ensuring viable business models.
During his 18 years at Monitor Group, he helped world and business leaders address complex strategic issues, including competitiveness, organizational structure, marketing, industry evolution and pressing social concerns.
He worked with over 100 companies from start-ups with uncertain business models to established companies with tens of billions of dollars in revenues looking to redefine their models.
