LG Electronics makes changes in management

YV Verma, director, HR & MS, LG Electronics, has been promoted to chief operting officer (COO) in India. He has been part of the company since its inception in the Indian market and has played a crucial role in building the brand image. Verma will look after the sales and marketing functions of the company.
V Ramachandran, director, marketing, will now be the head, strategy. He has more than 22 years experience and had joined LG in 2007.
Amitabh Tiwari, business head of home entertainment and modern trade, will head sales. Tiwari has a total work experience of 19 years.
Rohit Pandit will now be the business head LG Home Entertainment. He was the product head of the washing machine division.
Sudhin Mathur, was with Sony Eriscson as marketing head, will now be the business head of mobile communication at LG India.
Moon B Shin, managing director, LG Electronics India, states in an official communiqué, "We have made some substantial alterations in the top management at LG India. Our major objective behind the move is to increase operating efficiency and demonstrate great autonomy at the operations level. Building an independent image of LG India as a subsidiary to LG Electronics is also a directive. All these transfers will be effective from 1 January, 2010."
