Metropolitan LPG cylinder prices surge by Rs 100 for 19-Kg commercial cylinders – stay updated on current rates

Indian state-backed oil marketing companies, or OMCs, have increased the price of their 19-kg commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders by about Rs 100. This hike will occur across major metro cities of India.

It is reported that these new prices will come into effect on Wednesday, 1 November, 2023.

As the table indicates, the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder will cost Rs 1,833 in Delhi, Rs 1,943 in Kolkata, Rs 1,785 in Mumbai, Rs 1,914.50 in Bengaluru, and Rs 1,999.50 in Chennai, respectively.

The price of the 19 kg LPG cylinder had been previously increased in October by Rs 209.

The table above also provides a comparison of the prices in October and November in different metro cities.

As the table indicates, in October, the cost of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder was Rs 1,731.50 in Delhi, Rs 1,839.50 in Kolkata, Rs 1,684 in Mumbai, Rs 1,839 in Bengaluru, and Rs 1,898 in Chennai, respectively.

Commercial LPG cylinder prices experienced a reduction of Rs 157 in September across major metro cities. Presently, in Delhi, a commercial LPG cylinder costs Rs 1,522.50, while in Kolkata, it's priced at Rs 1,636. In Mumbai, the cost is Rs 1,428, and in Chennai, it is Rs 1,695.

However, public-sector oil marketing companies have maintained the price of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders. In Delhi, a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder costs Rs 903; in Kolkata, it's priced at Rs 929; in Mumbai, the cost is Rs 902.50; in Bengaluru, it is Rs 905; and in Chennai, it is Rs 918.50.

Public sector OMCs, including Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), adjust the prices of cooking gas cylinders on the first of each month based on average international oil prices.

Regarding global oil prices, Brent January crude futures increased by 36 cents (0.4%) to reach $85.38 per barrel on Wednesday, 1 November, 2023, following a $1.33 drop on Tuesday, 31 October, 2023. Brent December futures settled 4 cents lower at $87.41 per barrel on Tuesday, 31 October, 2023. US West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose by 28 cents (0.3%) to $81.30 per barrel.
