Mobile Asia 2008: Nokia brings the 6110 GPS enabled handset to India

New Delhi: Nokia provided consumers a first hand experience of its wide rage of products on the inaugural day of Mobile Asia 2008, on 29 February 2008.

Showcasing Navigation, convergence, imaging, music and gaming are the features, which can be found in their phones.

Devinder Kishore, director of marketing at Nokia said, "Nokia is a clear leader in the mobile space, and now we are gearing up to take mobility to the next level by offering a range of internet services to its consumers." He added that events like the Mobile Asia provide the perfect platform to showcase the depth and range of services a company has to offer to the market.

Nokia has launched its GPS enabled handset, the Nokia 6110, in India. Nokia says that it is the first mobile phone that is optimised for GPS and the navigation functionalities. Presently, the phone comes with maps of 8 cities of the country, and will have important locations like hospitals, banks, restaurants, schools, colleges, petrol pumps, places of worships, etc. marked on them.

The Nokia 6110 features include HSDPA technology, which is used for fast web browsing, a 2-megapixel camera complimenting the 2.2-inch screen, and a unique feature of listening to the SMS. The phone comes with an on-screen resolution of 16 million colours, and an analog light sensor.

Nokia has also displayed the N95, N73, N82, 5610, 5310 and the E90 communicator, showcasing complete convergence in the mobile phone market.
